Only drawing on the occasional wall as a child I didn't realize my creative outlet could be perceived in a good way. Later, as an adult, my Mother, an artist herself, encouraged me to try watercolor (probably assuming it would wash off the wall easily if things took a turn for the worse). As it turned out, I love watercolor and the surprises it can deliver. So, again, it would seem that Mom was right.
Growing up in Alaska I had the opportunity to observe nature around me. As an adult I have lived in Seattle, Chicago, and now call San Diego my home. Still making observations. I'm just not drawing on the wall anymore! In my art I try to preserve the memory and convey the feeling of the moment. I hope that viewers will enjoy my translation. |
